Here are our tips for recruiting medics without breaking the bank – even more important given that budgets are being reigned in across the board.
Tip #1: Word of Mouth
The oldest adages are often the best. Nothing beats word of mouth to spread your message and build trust with those whom you want to most engage.
Tip #2: Advertise on Your Website
Make the most of your website – many organisations don’t surprisingly. Populate it with invigorating, relatable content. Go beyond the brand to the people who make that brand a reality.
Tip #3: Exploit Social Media and Forums
For better or worse, nothing has democratised communications like social media. Don’t just see your organisation’s Twitter or Facebook accounts as tick-box exercises but rather as opportunities to reach out and meaningfully engage. Also, sniff out where your target audience meets online, namely forums and closed groups, and see how you can connect with members.
Tip #4: Ask for Recommendations
Asking for recommendations sounds obvious but it’s amazing how often we forget. A simple question to the right person can open up unforeseen opportunities. The worst that can happen is you get a ‘no!’. In our experience, people usually appreciate being asked to share their insights and recommendations.
Tip #5: Write and Speak
Life and work may feel busy enough, but prioritising writing articles and speaking at events is an efficient way to connect with medics. Target the most relevant publications, websites and conferences and your content will reach a wide audience with relative ease.
