Extra-Curricular Highlights

Perhaps the biggest attraction of Singapore is walking at night by the Waterfront Promenade where you can enjoy great views of the harbour and beautiful lights. The bars and restaurants are buzzing with workers winding down after a hard day’s work.

Singapore offers more than skyscrapers;  if you are a nature lover you must go and see the Singapore Botanical Gardens, The National Orchid Garden and the Cloud Forest Dome.

If art is your style, you could pay several visits to the Ritz- Carlton Hotel to enjoy modern and contemporary art.  Museums to consider are the Peranakan Museum or the educational Asian Civilisations Museum.

If you want a taste of China and to explore the city, drop by the Chinatown Heritage Centre, an authentic and fascinating slice of Singapore’s History. Chinatown itself is full of great eateries selling local food for a reasonable price.

Singapore is a shopper’s paradise; from impressive shopping malls selling all the latest fashion to Haji Lane; a fashionista’s paradise to do some shopping and find souvenirs.

The nightlife is as you would expect from a metropolitan city, though the party ends early (3am). Zouk and Ministry of Sound  are the trendy clubs to drop into after you have had your original Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel.
