We don’t always prioritise our happiness and wellbeing at work, but taking time to focus on what we want can have a transformative impact on our lives.
Starting a coaching programme with me is an opportunity to talk in confidence with a trained, independent professional about your career – whether that’s helping you make the best choices for yourself, dealing with difficult colleagues, or getting a better work/life balance.
I offer a neutral space to discuss professional problems, decisions and concerns —however big or small— to help you gain a fulfilling, productive and rewarding experience at work.
I am trained to help you identify what you want, and to structure a path to attaining it. I have a relaxed, flexible approach to coaching, asking targeted questions. Each session is tailored to your needs and preferences, drawing on creative and psychological coaching techniques to help you get the most out of your sessions.
I have over 30 years’ experience as a career coach and psychologist. I offer a neutral, informed insight and curiosity about what drives you. Taking a creative approach, I use positive psychology and psychometric tools to empower you and help you get to where you want to be.
I have supported over 1000 people, including many doctors with their career decisions and happiness at work. Many of my clients consider leaving their careers in the NHS and want to investigate the options they have available.
It gives me great pleasure to give my clients time and space to talk. I enjoy spending time with people to go into the detail of their stories and to watch them become clearer and more confident about their future.
I have worked in both the private and public sectors, including 12 years in Organisational Development and Training functions within the NHS. In 2011, I started my own company, Coaching Excellence, in order to concentrate on executive and career coaching. I teach coaching skills to health service managers at the University of West London and regularly deliver workshops at conferences and events of Royal Colleges.
Since 2015 I have been a member of the Professional Support Unit (PSU), part of Health Education England (HEE), where I work as an executive and career coach. I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)
I was educated in the Netherlands as a career coach and furthered my studies with a Masters Degree in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics followed by several specialist coaching courses.

“With patience, skill and empathy you have been able to help me make what is undoubtedly the right decision for me and my career. It was fantastic to spend time with someone neutral who was able to ask me challenging questions and help me come to my own decision about the path to take…I have recommended your service to several colleagues. It is such an asset and I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity.”
“I very much valued Mourijn’s insight, ideas and suggestions, constructive challenge, and new ways of looking and responding to issues. Her style was warm, trustworthy, creative and encouraging. I felt she brought a great deal of empathy and fairness throughout all of the coaching, focused on creating the best outcomes and on positive, understanding relationships.”
“Mourijn’s style offer challenges which enables me to adjust my management behaviour at work thereby enabling me to take up a more strategic stance in my style of management. I have been able to successfully use this learning in my work.”
“The sessions are well managed and Mourijn’s style of coaching enables me to recognise and draw out solutions from within (rather than it being given) thereby developing my strategic thinking.”
“Critical and crucial questions at the right time. Lots of space for me to think!”
