Your Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a new-to-industry Medical Advisor / Medical Science Liaison to join our Medical Affairs team and gain experience from the ground up in an innovative and expanding healthcare market. The role is a mix of home, office and field- based, with only occasional travel to the Head Office in Somerset. The ideal candidate would be based within easy travel distance of Central London for regular face-to-face team meetings, when such activities resume.

We are looking for someone with a strong medical/scientific background, excellent communication skills and commercial acumen.

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to (and ultimately lead) clinical research for ADM Health & Wellness.
  • Contribute to the successful publication of clinical research using ADM products and the dissemination of the results.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the field of microbiome clinical research.
  • Provide support in the review of adverse event reporting and in the development of safety dossiers across product lines.
  • Keep abreast of relevant industry and scientific developments.
  • Identify, develop and maintain Key Opinion Leader relationships and commercial opportunities.
  • Write and deliver high level scientific presentations to medical/scientific and commercial audiences.
  • Contribute to scientific writing in line with marketing & PR strategy at various levels ranging from consumer to peer review scientific publications.
  • Attend external scientific conferences and commercial events as a representative of the company (both in the UK and abroad).
  • Input into clinical research strategy.
  • When travel restrictions are lifted, this role has the opportunity for significant travel abroad to meet commercial partners and share scientific results.

Your Profile

  • Either: Qualified medical doctor (MBBS or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualification experience OR you hold a PhD in field relevant to healthcare/life sciences/microbiome research.
  • If a medical doctor, postgraduate qualifications such as Royal College membership (e.g. MRCP, MRCGP etc.) would be desirable
  • Industry experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential
  • Experienced public speaker
  • Experience of scientific writing.
  • Publication track record desirable
  • Experience with systematic review and/or meta-analysis process desirable
  • Clinical/academic experience in immunology, microbiology or infectious disease is highly desirable.
  • Full driving licence and passport, and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis, when travel restrictions allow.
