Medical Affairs serves as the scientific bridge between the industry and the wider medical community. About The Role
You will be a Clinical Affairs Scientist based in the UK, working as part of the Global Medical & Clinical Affairs team. This role combines Clinical Operations and Clinical Research responsibilities, and it is an incredible opportunity to take part in shaping the development of the future products at Dyson, pioneering scientific research and technology and enabling clinical evidence with exciting projects that drive real business value.
Responsibilities Include
- You will perform research intelligence and review available scientific data to develop solid product knowledge.
- You will engage with internal team members and external collaborators, including study investigators, contract research organisations (CROs), hospitals, research institutions, ethics committees and vendors. You will help build the global clinical capabilities by facilitating the identification, selection and management of the clinical sites/CROs.
- You will lead the setup, conduct and analysis of the Dyson internal user trials
- You will be involved in setting up external trial sites which may require visiting the sites and compiling visit reports on a regular basis.
- You will prepare, review and maintain trial study documents for clinical and user trial
- You will provide inputs into the design of data capture systems, case report forms (CRFs) and the review and validation of clinical study reports (CSRs)
- Some travel may be required to clinical sites and international conferences/seminars/exhibitions, etc.
About you
- A Life Science/Bioengineering Science degree or other relevant degree or qualification.
- Clinical research experience with proven experience of managing clinical investigations and evaluations from design, planning, obtaining ethics committee approvals, implementation and successful completion.
- Excellent knowledge of the clinical trials in the Cosmetics, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
- Ability to work independently, creatively and with with drive to make the clinical research team efficient and effective.
- Team player and good communication skills to be able to work closely with a range of skill sets within the project team.
- Knowledge and good understanding of the ICH GCP guidelines, industry-specific regulatory process and associated governance, including medical devices (i.e. ISO 14155: 2011 and IVD Directives).
- Previous role in a Clinical Operations function is preferred.
- PhDs are valued, but innovation and excellence is essential.
- Exposure and/or interest in emerging technologies with an application to clinical development, such as machine learning and digital health.
