At Sensyne Health we combine technology and ethically sourced patient data to help people everywhere get better care. To do this, we have created a unique partnership with the NHS that delivers a return to our partner Trusts and unlocks the value of clinical data for research while safeguarding patient privacy. Alongside this, we develop clinically validated software applications that create clinician and patient benefit while providing highly curated data. Our products include vital-signs monitoring in hospitals and patient-to-clinician apps to support self-care and remote monitoring of gestational diabetes and chronic diseases such as COPD and heart failure.

The Discovery Sciences Team

Sensyne Health are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic Clinician to help us deliver on our mission to accelerate medical research and improve patient care.

We are an agile team of Clinically led Machine Learning specialists who use our proprietary clinical AI technology to analyse ethically sourced, clinically curated, anonymised patient data to solve serious unmet medical needs across a wide range of therapeutic areas, enabling a new approach to clinical trial design, drug discovery, development and post-marketing surveillance. The nature of our team is collaborative with an emphasis on genuine passion for healthcare.

We’re looking for someone who will take responsibility for ensuring patient focus for all projects. You will be the central patient and clinical resource for the data-scientists and computational biologists to ensure projects maintain a clinically and biologically relevant focus.

This role involves working closely with the data science team across a range of therapeutic areas, ensuring there are solid biological and clinical rationale for the research, along with clear patient benefit delivery.

In collaboration with the BD team you will translate business and clinical requirements into product/technical requirements. This means building the strategy and operational requirements for the use of clinical data into the drug discovery and development pathway.

How you’ll help

  • Bring your Clinical expertise to a dynamic team of machine learning and computational biologists to address clinically relevant questions
  • Liaise with clinicians and Trusts to write project plans, outlines, using biological know-how and expertise
  • Work with the data science team to write project reports and determine biological-scientific direction of projects
  • Make sense of processed data sets, seeking fresh clinical insight from previously untapped patient groups and translating these findings into publications or research ideas.

Sensyne Health actively encourages the scientific team to publish research results in national and international conferences and scientific journals.

  • Medical Degree (MBChB or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years post graduate clinical experience, preferably within the NHS
  • Additional post graduate qualifications in a relevant field highly desirable
  • Experience working with anonymised patient data and epidemiological longitudinal observational data in an academic or commercial setting
  • Experience in handling and analysing longitudinal discrete and continuous data at the individual patient level
  • Experience of providing biological-scientific direction and insight on projects and translating findings into publications or research ideas
  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams (Bioinformaticians, Biologists, data scientists)
  • Working knowledge of drug discovery and development• Understanding of how analysis of longitudinal, high dimensional clinical data (either from EHRs or clinical trials) can lead to patient benefit or impact on the drug discovery and development pathway
  • An understanding of how machine learning techniques applied to longitudinal data from EHRs can be used for various stages along the drug discovery and development pathway would be highly beneficial
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and cross-functional teams, preferably able to demonstrate this through experience
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with ability to influence at all levels and in across departments

  • Company share option scheme
  • 5% employer matched Pension scheme
  • BUPA Health Insurance including Partners and Children cover
  • Free Gym Membership
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • A challenging and fun environment that rewards results
