Our team includes experts who are leveraging expertise in medicine, healthcare, AI, hardware, products, and more to solve the big challenges in healthcare to help people lead healthier, more productive lives. This team works closely with other groups within Google and across Alphabet.

We’re building a clinical team at Google Health to partner with engineering, product, UX, and other team members on research and product development aimed at improving the public’s health and the care patients receive.

In this role, you’ll be an effective and influential contributor to product development, utilizing not only your clinical expertise but also your listening, communication, and leadership skills to appropriately shape the content, design, and execution of products. You’ll also work closely with research-oriented teams, using your experience in working cross-functionally with clinical and non-clinical teams such as software design, engineering, product management, regulatory affairs and research teams.

Google Health has made major advances in healthcare research, such as detecting eye disease more quickly and accurately than experts, planning cancer radiotherapy treatment in seconds rather than hours, and working to detect patient deterioration before it happens with electronic records.

Fundamental research is at the core of Google Health – the multidisciplinary team collaborates with partners to publish novel research in renowned scientific journals. They then work to apply this research into the medical field, whether through Streams, our clinical assistant app, or other clinical hardware and products developed in Google. Working alongside colleagues across Google, you’ll help make this vision a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an external voice for Google Health products, including with Google Health partners, and collaborate with/contribute to Google Health’s research efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of relevant documentation including product requirement documents, user guides and training materials. Responds to the needs of the business and projects prioritizing effort effectively.
  • Support the consideration of change management and enhancement requests providing relevant insights, clinical information and recommendations. Support development and technical deployment teams in gaining greater awareness of clinical and professional user needs.
  • Support the effective and timely evaluation, interpretation and translation of relevant national guidance, best practice and clinical evidence that impact products and features.
  • Provide guidance, insights and direction on clinical practice, workflow, culture, variation in practice, safety-related issues, patient care processes and outcomes relevant to our product.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Clinical professional degree (including but not limited to MD, MBBS, DNP, PharmD).
  • 3 years of clinical experience (in any clinical setting).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in clinical research.
  • Exposure to digital health product development or deployment in the field.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to be personable yet persistent.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent thought leadership and innovation.
