Based in the East of England (and possibly commutable from London), this company employs nearly 300 staff members – many of whom are scientists and engineers who develop new and cutting edge healthcare products & technologies.

Their main focus is improving healthcare for patients, over a wide range of specialties.

About the role

This unique role is designed for a doctor with both clinical and commercial acumen… in addition to good old fashioned curiosity about new technologies!

You will be working closely with a broad range of  designers, scientists and engineers in a specialist collaborative role. You will mainly be based with the Medical Devices Group.

Responsibilities include leveraging your clinical knowledge to:

• Devise new business strategies 
• Contribute towards research and development of new healthcare solutions
• Work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists & engineers 
• Maintain an existing network of clinician advisors
• Network and maintain relationships with external strategic partners

This broad role also provides you with the opportunity for you to work across several other disciplines which may include ophthalmology, pharma, chronic health conditions, orthopaedics and more.

Who are they looking for?

The words that come to mind for the right doctor in this role include:

Ideally they are seeking a doctor with a breadth of clinical experience, an excellent understanding of healthcare systems and preferably working experience in oncology.

Working experience in oncology may include working with cancer patients at some point during your career or specialising in a related area.

What is the optimal medical grade for a doctor applying for this role?

There is no specific minimum criteria for the grade of doctor you need to be.

However in our opinion this role is best suited for someone who has worked in healthcare to a middle grade (SHO / Registrar) or GP level as a minimum.

Fully qualified Consultants or specialists are not essential but welcome to apply if you’re looking for a way to expand your practice beyond conventional medicine!

Working Arrangements

As an employee, in optimal non-Covid times you will be working

• On site
• 4-5 normal working days a week
• With occasional business travel to US and Europe

They are open for you to continue some clinical work as preferred outside of your working schedule.

The work schedule is designed to be family friendly with no evening or weekend working requirements.

During Covid times, appropriate flexible working arrangements promoting social distancing will be arranged.

Salary

This is negotiable and largely dependent on what skillsets and experience you can bring to the table – nevertheless it is highly competitive to your usual NHS doctor salary.
