I want to be in Australia

In the words of the Manic Street Preachers:

I want to fly and run til it hurts…. In Australia

Looking at this as an outsider looking in on many friends working in the NHS, I can understand why they would want to escape the stresses, strains and red tape of the NHS and seek a new life abroad. Australia is one of the most popular destinations for Brits of all qualifications and career paths looking to go and work abroad – escaping to a better quality of life and actual real sunshine! It is something that I have considered myself whilst trudging through the rain on a particularly grey London day, wishing for nothing more than a sliver of blue sky.

From those that I have talked to that made the move they planned to go for 6 months to a year and most end up staying longer than that; some even stay on permanently.

Read this interesting BBC article on Dr John Thompson and his move to Australia. He certainly seems to be having the time of his life!
