Complementary And Alternative Medicine
Alternative medicine is any form of non medical practice that falls outside of mainstream healthcare.
Whilst not necessarily used exclusively for medical purposes, treatments can be used with the intention of treating or curing a medical illness. Some may use it alongside traditional allopathic medicine or instead of it.
Alternative medical practices can also be an effective wellbeing and stress management tool, allowing you to cope more easily with your day-to-day life.
Examples of alternative medical practices that you could use for yourself and others include:
- Energy healing – such as reiki, Reconnective Healing
- Mindfulness and meditation
There are some that swear by these kind of treatments, so if you are trying them it is best to go into it with an open mind to get the full benefit of them.
PRACTICING ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
We hear from an increasing number of doctors that are interested in the practice of alternative medicine and believe that its benefits can be used to complement their medical practice.
We have personally met doctors exploring homeopathy, acupuncture, and health and nutrition as a way to give a more holistic service to the patients that they deal with.
